ARTIST STATEMENT

These are oil paintings of water surfaces on canvas and linen that I create to elevate my and the viewers mind, body and spirit. I’m not particularly interested in a horizon line. It’s the reflection of light and sky. It’s the motion and the intricacies of the face of the water and the beauty of the moment that it defines.

Austin Palmer-Smith was born in Paris where his mother was a model and father a fashion photographer.
