This is 'Number 9' - Ninth painting in a series of 10, one painting for each digit. Ten paintings examine human fixation on counting & our dependence on numbers in a functioning modern society. Notice the prison-like bars, they appear in all ten paintings because there is no escape from numbers. We are locked into the use of numbers in our daily lives.
