This is one of seven paintings in a series, the September Series. These paintings are the result of me reflecting on my Grandfather’s Ohio farm. I was thinking of the farming process – the land and the seasons. Heat burns the walls of the structures and the sun casts long, hot shadows. On the fringes of the fields, ugly weeds are sprouting. This is the first painting in the series. I got so wrapped up in it I decided to do the series.
